International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8. This day is celebrated to create awareness among people about equal rights for women, the effects of gender bias, violence and abuse against women and much more. The global theme for 2023 is #EmbraceEquity, which aims to get the world talking about ‘Why equal opportunities aren’t enough’.
As a Women-empowered organization, the International Women’s Day 2023 remains one of the happiest moments for the StudyMEDIC family too. StudyMEDIC Co-founder and COO Dr Sowmya NS led the celebrations. The celebrations began with the welcome note by Mr Vipin P V, VP – Corporate Sales.
Dr. Sowmya, in her presidential speech, expressed her views about the role of women in society and how she strengthened herself as a woman on a daily basis. Her words truly were an inspiration for all of us to have an insight into the value of our precious lives as women.
A bunch of entertainment activities ranging from solo songs and group songs, solo dances and group dances, etc entertained the audience. Both classic and western dance performances and a ramp walk were also conducted.
The event ended with a symbolic candlelight ceremony in which all the women employees lit candles as a symbol of their achievement and the struggles they have faced. Everyone enjoyed the event to the fullest, with many memorable moments to keep in mind forever.
