Vishu, an auspicious celebration, evokes feelings of optimism and renewal in the hearts of those who partake in its festivities. The festival is a celebration of hope, renewal and prosperity, and is marked by various customs and rituals. With its vibrant colours, scents and flavours; Vishu is a joyful celebration that embodies the spirit of hope, rejuvenation and prosperity.
StudyMEDIC family, with great enthusiasm and zeal, celebrated the momentous occasion of Vishu on 15 April 2023 with a small but grand gathering in the company premises. Dr Sowmya N S, Co-founder & COO of StudyMEDIC, graced the event with her inspiring presence and message.
The highlight of the celebration was the Vishu Kani, a beautiful arrangement of rice, fruits, vegetables, flowers especially the golden shower (known as Konna poovu in the vernacular language) etc. in a decorated pot. This ritualistic custom symbolizes the idea of beginning the New Year with prosperity and abundance. The Vishu Kani was set up with great care and devotion, and the members of the StudyMEDIC family were excited to view it on the Vishu day.
Additionally, the tradition of Vishu Kai Neetam was practiced, where elders gave money or gifts to younger family members as a token of love and blessings. By extending this practice to employees, StudyMEDIC has shown that we value relationships with the team members and appreciate their contributions towards the growth of the company.
Furthermore, the employees appeared in traditional attire, which not only enhanced the visual appeal of the celebration but also brought the community together.
Dr. Sowmya N S delivered an inspiring speech that emphasized the significance of honouring and cherishing our cultural heritage and Vishu customs. The StudyMEDIC family members were thrilled to listen to the co-founder’s words, and they were filled with a sense of pride and belonging.
Overall, the Vishu celebration was a memorable event that brought the StudyMEDIC family together to honour their cultural roots and strengthens their bond. The celebration was a testament to the community’s commitment to preserving their traditions and customs for future generations.
