The first set of FMGE /NEXT OSCE centres will be set up in five top cities across India.
In another one of its kind initiatives to help and ease the exam preparation of all foreign medical graduates (FMGs), StudyMEDIC launches FMGE/NEXT OSCE centres in India. The first-time ever OSCE centres of the country will be set up across five top cities of India including Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Cochin.
Also known as the Screening Test for Foreign Medical Graduate, FMGE is mandatory for medical graduates who have done their medical graduation outside India. It is the only entrance examination for foreign medical graduates to get registered with the National Medical Council of India or any state medical councils.
It is mandatory for them to attain license to practice medicine in India. National Board of Examinations of Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conducts the exam every year.
However, owing to its low pass percentage, FMGE is often considered as one of the toughest exams. Lack of proper guidance is one of the main factors that make the exam a difficult one, says StudyFMGE course director Dr Soham Sanyal.
“The problem happens when you don’t get guidance for the last four to five years, and all of a sudden you come to India with lots of pressure on you to start a new medical journey. Surely, it increases the difficulty.
So, I must say, we must begin preparing from the beginning, from the first or second year onwards, with the goal of achieving FMGE in the first attempt,” Dr Soham adds.
With the new OSCE centres, StudyMEDIC aims to ensure best in class training facilities to the students and envisions to become the most preferred destination for all FMGE aspirants.
Clinical assessment remains tough compared to written exams. With the launch of new OSCE centres, students will be able to find real-like OSCE experience in India itself. This is expected to play pivotal role in their exam preparation and results.
Ever since its inception in 2016 to till date, StudyMEDIC has been the leader in the premier medical education segment. Lots of innovative ideas like StudyMEDIC OSCE app which resembles the same exam pattern was one such initiative. The app has helped many OSCE candidates to remotely prepare for the exam especially during the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2022, StudyMEDIC conducted various live circuit courses in UAE and India. The courses provided students with a real-like exam experience with recognized examiners and role players. These courses also were well appreciated by the students.
StudyMEDIC plans to launch more centres in the country to help FMGE candidates. These are the first set of centres in the country and company plans to launch more centres in the coming months.
